Today, obesity has spread like an epidemic across the world. People try almost everything from exercising to dieting to overcome their weight issues. However, only a few are able to resolve their weighty issues. When nothing seems to work, weight loss surgery remains the only solution. Earlier, surgery was considered a risky business however advancements in medical science have made it a safe procedure. The latest approach is sleeve plication. It is a restrictive bariatric surgery.

3. There are very few or no complications associated with gastric sleeve gastrectomy. Also, there is no problem of absorption as no changes have been done to the stomach and the absorption of the vitamins and minerals is as usual.

4. The results of this procedure can be as good as some of the intense procedures like gastric sleeve. And some of the other benefits of this procedure are:

d. No erosion

5. However, there are some disadvantages also. If the patient doesn’t follow a regular diet and exercise plan, the results are not maintained for a long time. Also, most of the surgeons claim that this procedure is reversible. However, the truth can only be determined based on the particular case. Also, the conversion from gastric sleeve plication to any other kind of surgery like gastric bypass syrgery or sleeve gastrectomyis also questionable.
